Southdowns Manor Wedding Photographer

Getting married at Southdowns Manor? I’m Natasha, a Hampshire wedding photographer, and I absolutely love photographing weddings here.

I’ve been to Southdowns Manor a few times, so I know the venue well and love the variety it gives us throughout the day. From the beautiful interiors to the gardens and surrounding countryside, there are lots of opportunities for relaxed, natural photographs.

My approach is simple. I want you to enjoy your wedding day while I capture what’s happening around you.

There’ll be a little direction when you need it, especially for your couple photographs, but I won’t have you standing in front of the camera all day. I’ll be looking for the laughs, the happy tears, the hugs and all those little moments you might otherwise miss.

You’re there to get married and have an amazing time. I’m there to make sure you remember it.

Wedding photography at Southdowns Manor

Set in the South Downs National Park, Southdowns Manor is surrounded by rolling countryside and greenery, with Petersfield nearby.

It’s a lovely setting for a wedding, but what I particularly enjoy as a photographer is the variety.

Inside, the venue flows through the bar and lounge, ceremony room and ballroom, giving you different backdrops as the day progresses. The ceremony room is filled with natural light, while the ballroom has a completely different feel once the celebrations get underway.

There are also guest bedrooms at the venue, which makes things much easier for everyone if you’re staying overnight.

Then you have the gardens and countryside outside, giving us plenty of opportunities for photographs without having to travel anywhere.

Photographing your day at Southdowns Manor

I don’t want your wedding photography to take over your day.

Instead, I work around what’s happening and look for the moments that naturally unfold.

Your ceremony, confetti, drinks reception, group photographs and couple portraits can all be fitted into the day without disappearing for hours.

For your couple photographs, I’ll give you some gentle direction and help you feel comfortable. You don’t need to know how to pose, and you certainly don’t need to be a professional model.

The rest of the time, I’ll be watching what’s happening around you.

Your friends laughing together. Your parents watching you during the ceremony. Someone getting very excited on the dance floor.

Those are the photographs that help tell the story of your wedding.

Getting ready

With guest bedrooms at the venue, you can start your wedding day without rushing between different locations.

Getting ready is also a lovely part of the story to photograph. The final touches, the excitement, your friends and family around you and that feeling that things are about to get very real.

The ceremony

One of the lovely things about Southdowns Manor is that you have the option of getting married outside as well as inside.

The outdoor ceremony space gives you the chance to say “I do” surrounded by the countryside, which can make for some beautiful photographs and a really relaxed start to your wedding celebrations.

If you choose the indoor ceremony room instead, the natural light gives us plenty to work with there too.

Whichever you choose, I’ll be looking beyond the obvious moments. The look on your partner’s face as you walk in, your parents watching from their seats or that little smile you share during the ceremony.

Those reactions are all part of the story.

The gardens and countryside

Once you’ve said “I do”, we can make the most of the gardens and surrounding countryside for your photographs.

This is where we’ll take a little time for your couple portraits, without disappearing from your guests for ages.

I’ll keep things relaxed and make the most of the light and whatever the weather decides to throw at us.

The reception

As everyone settles into the celebrations, I’ll be capturing the conversations, laughter and atmosphere around you.

Then comes the evening.

The dancing, the hugs, the celebrations and all the wonderfully chaotic moments that make your wedding yours.

What if it rains?

Let’s be realistic. This is England.

Rain doesn’t mean your wedding photographs are ruined.

Southdowns Manor has plenty of lovely indoor spaces, so we can still create a varied gallery if the weather isn’t playing along. And if we get a break in the rain, we’ll make the most of it.

You don’t need to spend your wedding day checking the weather app. Leave that bit to me.
