Romsey Registry Office and Romsey Town Hall

For couples who want a straightforward and legal civil ceremony in Romsey, the Romsey Registry Office provides a lovely and convenient option. Ceremonies are held at Romsey Library on Station Road, just a short walk from the town centre and local transport links, making it easy for you and your guests to attend.

While the Registry Office itself is ideal for smaller, intimate weddings, many couples also choose to celebrate their vows at nearby venues afterwards. If you’re looking for a bit more space or a larger group, the Romsey Town Hall — licensed for marriages and civil partnerships by Romsey Town Council — offers two beautiful rooms: the Court Room, which can accommodate up to 50 guests, and the Council Chamber, which can host up to 120 guests for a ceremony or reception, both steeped in Victorian character and charm.

Whether you’re planning a quiet legal ceremony or a larger celebration with friends and family, Romsey’s registry and licensed venue options give you flexibility and character right in the heart of this historic Hampshire market town.

My Mini Package includes 3 hours of coverage – enough time for your ceremony, a handful of family photos, and some lovely portraits. If you’d like me to capture some getting-ready moments or a bit of your celebration, feel free to add on extra hours.

The registrars will happily let you play your own music so you’ll need a song to go down the aisle, one for during the signing of the register and one for going back down the aisle as a married couple. Get your best friend on music duty! And don’t forget to walk SLOWLY down the aisle. Milk it for all it’s worth!

Gone are the days when photographers were relegated to the back of the room. These days, we’re allowed to photograph you as you come down the aisle, and during the vows. But I always shoot silently and discreetly as possible so as not to distract you from actually saying I do! But I will be there to capture all the moments as they unfold.

I’ve photographed many weddings in Romsey, and while every day is unique, the flow tends to be similar. I usually arrive about 15 minutes before the ceremony to capture you and your guests arriving. Ceremonies can take anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes, and then there’s time for confetti moments and around 8–10 family group photos — which always take a little longer than expected!

I always send a questionnaire before the big day so I know your group shots in advance, but it really helps to have someone who knows both sides of the family to round everyone up. Once the family photos are done, guests can head off to your reception venue while we take a stroll through Romsey’s charming streets, gardens, and historic corners to capture some relaxed couple portraits.

If there’s any time left at the end, I usually pop into your reception venue for a few minutes to take some natural, relaxed images of everyone enjoying themselves before leaving you to celebrate.

Of course! Lots of my couples have me around to shoot their wedding reception or after party. Just let me know in advance that you would like me to stay more than my usual three hour package.

CAN WE WRITE OUR OWN VOWS?
