It’s a calm, welcoming space where you can slow down, enjoy a glass of fizz, and get ready alongside your favourite people. There’s plenty of room for hair and makeup, somewhere safe to hang dresses, and everything is designed to feel relaxed and unhurried. From a photography point of view, the suite is wonderfully intimate, giving a warm, personal feel to your getting-ready photos and allowing those quiet, meaningful moments — laughter, happy tears, and all the little details — to be captured beautifully before the celebrations begin.

Staying the Night at The Angel Hotel

One of the best things about getting married at The Angel Hotel is knowing that when the celebrations wind down, you and your guests don’t have to go anywhere at all. With 37 beautifully designed bedrooms on site, there’s no need to worry about taxis or nearby hotels — everyone can simply relax and enjoy every last moment of your special day.

For you and your partner, the luxurious bridal suite provides the perfect wedding‑night retreat. This peaceful, private space is yours to unwind in after the festivities — a calm haven to reflect on the day and start your married life together in comfort.

Having accommodation right on site also means your guests are just steps away from the heart of the celebrations, making it easy for everyone to stay close, enjoy the evening and soak up the atmosphere. And from a photography point of view, being able to move between your reception, the gardens, and the bedrooms keeps your day wonderfully unhurried — giving plenty of opportunity for relaxed, natural moments to be captured, even into the morning after.

Got some questions?

My Mini Package includes 3 hours of coverage – enough time for your ceremony, a handful of family photos, and some lovely portraits. If you’d like me to capture some getting-ready moments or a bit of your celebration, feel free to add on extra hours or even go for my other 2 packages!

The registrars will happily let you play your own music so you’ll need a song to go down the aisle, one for during the signing of the register and one for going back down the aisle as a married couple. Get your best friend on music duty! And don’t forget to walk SLOWLY down the aisle. Milk it for all it’s worth!

Gone are the days when photographers were relegated to the back of the room. These days, we’re allowed to photograph you as you come down the aisle, and during the vows. But I always shoot silently and discreetly as possible so as not to distract you from actually saying I do! But I will be there to capture all the moments as they unfold.

I’ve photographed many weddings at The Angel Hotel, and the day usually follows a lovely, relaxed rhythm. I arrive before your ceremony to capture you and your guests arriving. The ceremony itself can last anywhere from 20 to 45 minutes, followed by time for confetti and 8–10 family photos — which always take a bit longer than you expect!

Before the big day, I send a questionnaire so I know exactly which group shots you want. It’s also helpful to have someone on hand who knows both sides of the family to help gather everyone quickly.

Once the formal photos are done, we can let your guests head to the rest of the hotel for drinks or canapés, while we take a short stroll around the grounds for some relaxed portraits of just the two of you. If there’s any extra time at the end, I usually pop back into the barn for a few candid shots of your guests enjoying themselves before leaving you to celebrate and dance the night away.

CAN WE WRITE OUR OWN VOWS?

Many couples choose to write their own personalised vows at The Angel Hotel, which gives your ceremony a wonderfully heartfelt and less formal feel. There’s something truly special about expressing your love in your own words. To make it look even more beautiful in your photos, try printing your vows on cards or nice paper rather than reading from your phone — otherwise it might look like you’re scrolling through Instagram mid-ceremony!

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?

Welcome to the Great British weather! It does rain quite often, so come prepared with lovely brollies. I’ll do my best to photograph your group shots in the rain, but please try to keep these to a minimum so you don’t end up soaking wet in your wedding outfits.
